Luci Schroder
Luci Schroder is an award-winning Writer/Director based in Melbourne, Australia. With a background in Fine Art, Textile Design, and Philosophy, she brings a multilayered, tactile approach to filmmaking that is both distinctive and emotionally resonant.
Her acclaimed short Slapper premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to win Best Short Fiction Film at the Sydney Film Festival, Best Emerging Australian Director at the Melbourne International Film Festival, Best Direction at the ADG Awards, and Best Drama on Vimeo, among other honours. Schroder’s award-winning music videos have been nominated or selected for the ARIAs, Cannes Young Director Award, SXSW Film Festival, and more. She also co-directed the AACTA-nominated documentary Gatwick: The Last Chance Hotel.
Synopsis
Taylah is a rebellious, destitute teen from rural Australian suburbia. After a brief sexual encounter, Taylah must scrape together money for the morning after pill before it’s too late. As she hustles for the cash, she is also stuck babysitting a wild and uncooperative five-year-old, Vegas.
