Blake Rice
Blake Winston Rice is an award-winning writer-director from New Jersey and a Rowan University graduate. He began as an actor and comedian before moving into filmmaking in 2018.
His breakout short Tea (2024), starring Michael Gandolfini and executive produced by Patty Jenkins, premiered at Cannes and won awards at multiple Oscar-qualifying festivals. It’s now a Vimeo Staff Pick and streaming on Kanopy.
Blake is repped by Kaplan Perrone. He recently completed DISC (with Jim Cummings and Victoria Ratermanis) and is developing his debut feature The Empty Lot and the follow-up, Valves.
Synopsis
While rehearsing how to ask out the girl of his dreams (Olivia Nikkanen), a lonely and highly allergic Circuit-Shack employee (Michael Gandolfini) gets stung in the throat by a hornet.
